Residhotel Grand Prado

The room at La Grand Prado was filthy, with dust everywhere, stained walls, and dirty carpet and bed linen. There was no real service either. The front desk staff were unhelpful and made me feel like I was bothering them. Breakfast was meant to be included, but in the morning I was told there'd be none because the staff member responsible hadn't come to work. They didn't apologize or offer compensation. They also charged me a €100 deposit despite the hotel being paid in full, and never clearly explained why. A very disappointing stay, and I wouldn't recommend it. For the same price, you can find somewhere clean that treats guests with basic respect.

The room faced the back, so it was quiet apart from the hum of the air conditioning. It was clean, had a balcony, and a minimally equipped kitchen, making this a fully functional hotel for a long stay. The metro station is three minutes away, and there are plenty of supermarkets and bakeries nearby for snacks and other essentials. Being asked for a damage deposit on arrival was a bit irritating, though Booking should have made that requirement clearer.

One star. Like many French hotels, they refuse to issue an invoice, saying the booking platform is responsible for it. When they finally do, after wasting 15 minutes there, they fake one. It's not a real invoice and doesn't include the company's correct details.

The rooms aren't elegant and feel tired, just as other reviews have said, with renovations needed. Still, they're well insulated from sound, warm, and have a very nice balcony and a great bath/shower. We spent a week here, and while at first I could only imagine giving it one star, the hotel grew on me. The staff were all lovely and polite and really tried their best. For what we paid, I'd recommend it.
