The common areas are good for meeting people, though cleanliness can be hit or miss when it’s busy. Rooms are basic and sometimes noisy, but fine by hostel standards. It has a great spot near the Vieux Port and a very backpacker-friendly feel. A good pick if location and atmosphere matter more to you than comfort.

I’m here for four nights and have one more to go. The hostel is nice and spacious, but the people here have made the stay awful. I’m in the biggest dorm, and there have been problems every night. The first night, a bunch of men came back from a game and acted like it was broad daylight, talking and moving things without caring what time it was. The next day was the only quiet one, since there weren’t many people. Yesterday, the person below my bunk smoked cigarettes during the night and the smell woke me up. Someone else watched a movie from 5 am without earphones. After a sleepless night, I went to the kitchen and found all my food gone. Someone had eaten it. Tonight, I woke at 4 am because a man was playing music in the room. I asked him twice to turn it off, but he wouldn’t. I went to reception to call the receptionist, who said he’d come help, but he never showed up. The man turned it down after I left, like he’d got scared, and then kept playing it quietly for another two hours. I changed beds at some point and got some sleep until 8 am, when the man below the next bunk started calling his family. Another woman complained, but he didn’t stop. The earlier man had his alarm going and wouldn’t turn it off either. I went back to reception and asked them to do something. Eventually the receptionist came and told the music guy to stop. As soon as he left, the man laughed at me and kept being loud. There are no real consequences for people who disrespect others here. The guests change, but the behavior keeps happening. Hell must be a bunch of men with no common sense or awareness of anyone around them. Please free me. PS. People don’t wash their dishes properly, and leave the sinks full of hair after shaving their beards or their heads.

The facilities are fine and cover what you need, but I wouldn't stay here again. People I spoke with felt a bit unsafe, and I could see why. One night, a drunk, aggressive guest who had earlier banged on the door after forgetting his key suddenly started shouting and violently waking someone for no reason. They moved him to another room and said they'd kick him out, but he was still there the next day. Aggressive guests should be dealt with with zero tolerance.

The location made it easy to walk around the port. We stayed in a 16-person dorm, which had four bathrooms and showers in the room, plus a communal kitchen. Each bed had a charging port, and there were lockers for backpacks, though you need a large enough lock. Towels and laundry cost extra. Good hostel.

The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable, though they squeaked. But I wish I could rate the place more highly: there were bugs in the rooms that looked like baby cockroaches, and hair and dust on the shower floors. I didn't feel comfortable brushing my teeth, showering, or doing my skincare in the bathroom. I kept all my luggage and belongings off the floor because I could see bugs walking around.
