The staff were really nice, and there was a bit of a view. We had the plate de jour, so this is only about that meal. For around €15 each, it was the usual three-course lunch. The dishes looked interesting, though the food itself wasn't especially good. Martel has a lot of average or poor restaurants, so this was among the better options. I'd recommend it if you're in town.

We used this as a base for exploring the Dordogne, and it worked perfectly. Breakfast was marvellous, and the simple rooms were clean and pleasant. The staff were lovely and very helpful. A couple of small glitches came up, but they were sorted out quickly.

The dining room was full when we got there, which seemed like a good sign. We’d stopped at this auberge by chance on the way from Gouffre de Padirac back to Le Bugue, and the food turned out to be wonderful.
