The house has real charm, and the saltwater pool is lovely and spacious. But the pool in the photos, the natural one, is gone. We also arrived to find renovations underway in the left wing, which the new owner had started and then paused. Ownership had changed after we booked, and nobody warned us. We were 12 people staying for a week in July 2016, so that was quite a surprise. Inside, it felt like we were the first guests after the work began. The stove's gas bottle was empty, the toilet storage area had no curtain, and the pans were in such poor shape that we regretted using them. There was no parasol until day four, despite the strong midday sun. For outdoor light, there was only an old construction halogen lamp that needed to be plugged in. The dishwasher was falling apart too. Lots of small things that shouldn't be missing from a rental. The tennis court is another issue. It exists, and there were three very old rackets in the house, but the court belongs to another of the owner's gîtes. When we asked for a fourth racket and balls, we were told we didn't have priority. If the other gîte wanted to play, we had to give up our turn. The owner should stop advertising the court and take the rackets out to avoid confusion. The area felt deserted and very quiet, with no activities nearby, almost as if it didn't welcome tourists. The region is beautiful, but completely undeveloped. One of the gîte's three doors also barely closes. It's a lovely house, but still under renovation, with outdated equipment apart from the pool, and the owner wasn't upfront. I'd expect to pay for everything I ask for. I won't be back in the area anytime soon.
