There are several lakes nearby, and it’s nice to be able to walk around the hotel. Our room was spacious and really clean, and breakfast was a delicious buffet. The woman handling check-in and check-out was very friendly.

A comfortable bed, plenty of room, and a good breakfast made this a great stop while driving up from the south. The sunrise view from the window was lovely too. It was cheaper and better than an Ibis or similar hotel.

Parking out front was easy, and after eating you can head up the le tour for a lovely look at this part of France. The food was always good, with excellent service and a smile from Jean-luc. It’s a great spot for a bite, whether you sit in the restaurant or the conservatory.

We haven’t stayed at Hotel de la Tour since it’s only a five-minute walk from our second home in the village, but we’ve eaten at the restaurant several times. Our last visit was in May, soon after we came back to Masseret for a couple of months. The food is always good, but that night it was amazing, truly excellent. Later in our stay, though, we heard Jean-Luc had closed the restaurant because of kitchen staffing problems. Hotel guests were being sent to the family’s MaryMax restaurant at the plan d'eau, around a mile and a half outside the village, which hardly sounds convenient. I really hope Jean-Luc has reopened by the time I’m writing this. It matters to hotel guests and local people, and to my wife and me when we come back near the end of the year. If it’s still closed, I’ll make do with a pint of bière in the cosy little hotel bar when I’m out getting meat or bread from the village shops, or picking up pizzas from the van that comes to Masseret on Thursday evenings.

A lovely, quiet family room for us and our two children, and very French in a nice way. The staff were courteous too. It was a welcome break on the way to Calais. Recommended.
