HOTEL Domaine des Etangs, Auberges Resorts Collection

Nearly a year later, I still find myself thinking about how lovely our stay was, so I wanted to leave a review. The property was amazing, our room was great, the service was wonderful, and the food was very good. We brought our two little kids and they absolutely loved it. We left already wanting to return, and will definitely visit again soon.

The part of the stay that disappointed my husband and me was the room we booked for our last night. Our other room, Centaur, was already booked, so we treated ourselves to a more expensive room. The lower floor was very dark, and at first we thought we just couldn't work out the lights. By evening it was obvious they weren't working. We called the concierge; someone came, then several other people looked at it, and finally another concierge confirmed the lights were broken. They brought candles and a lamp, but it was late and still nowhere near bright enough. We had hoped to relax in the living room, but couldn't really use it in the morning or evening, and even during the day it was so dim we needed our phone flashlights. The concierge said the manager would talk with us the next day, but that never happened. The whole bottom floor, about half the room, was unusable, yet we paid the full rate for everything. We expected at least a discount as a gesture. The room alone was over 1k euros that night, so a simple apology didn't feel like enough for a place at that price point. There were many positive parts to the stay, but this was really disappointing. I emailed the dde team directly to explain how unhappy I was, and they ignored it. I followed up once, too. Totally unacceptable, tbh.

The rooms were a dream, with design details that felt unmatched, and the food was DIVINE!!! The property itself is gorgeous and extremely well maintained. What made the stay feel special was the team: attentive, kind, energetic, and the best staff I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They made things feel familial while staying so professional. My stay exceeded my expectations in every way. Honestly, one of the best places I've stayed. Thank you to the whole team!

My wife and I spent four unforgettable days at Domaine Des Etangs celebrating with friends, and I can't speak highly enough of the hotel or its staff. The events over those four days matched our group's vision, and the team went above and beyond to make them happen. We had a picnic in the woods, dinner in a field, a dinner feast in front of the chateau, sunset drinks by the lake, and a pool party. Shuttles between the venues ran seamlessly, the food was consistently excellent, and the service was warm, attentive, and always delivered with genuine smiles. Our room was beautiful, and housekeeping was outstanding, with every detail carefully thought through. Every moment felt magical, and I truly can't fault a thing. If anything, the online photos don't do the place justice. I'd highly recommend Domaine des Etangs, and I can't wait to come back with my family. Thank you, Ernesto and team!!!
