It was only a few pleasant minutes on foot to reach the town centre. La Villa de Mazamet was a highlight of my three weeks travelling in Spain and France. Geoffrey and Janice, who have owned the place for six years, are excellent hosts, and their passion for this beautifully maintained 1936 stately home really shows. My ensuite room was grand and decorated to an immaculate standard.

The service felt very personal, and the rooms were amazing. Janice and Geoffrey made us feel welcome and at home at La Villa De Mazamet, a wonderful place to rest in a beautiful part of the world. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting the area, and I'm already looking forward to coming back.

The hotel is handy for the train station, supermarkets, and several restaurants, all just a short walk away. Our room was impressively spacious, with a bed as comfortable as, or even more comfortable than, beds in many five star hotels. Thoughtful, high quality amenities added a nice touch, and the wines Geoffrey and Janice chose suited our tastes perfectly. We felt right at home thanks to their warm hospitality. Janice's dinner course was exquisite, every dish beautifully plated and full of flavour. We savoured every bite and would gladly vouch for her cooking. Staying in their beautiful home was one of our most relaxing and enjoyable trips, worth every moment. There are only 4-5 rooms, so we'd recommend booking early. Huge thanks to Geoffrey and Janice. We can't wait to return!

For our honeymoon, our first visit to the south of France, La Villa de Mazamet gave my spouse and me a relaxing, incredible stay. We loved spending time in the villa's lounges and reading nooks, and the garden was beautifully kept. Each morning started with a lovely spread of pastries. Geoffrey and Janice were welcoming hosts and always had great ideas for activities and places to eat. The rooms were immaculate and beautifully decorated. It was an amazing experience, and we can't wait to come back, even if only to stay in the villa!

The hosts were attentive and eager to make guests feel at home, with helpful ideas for nearby medieval towns, markets, and hiking routes. Breakfast each morning included fresh local produce and pastries. We also enjoyed the spacious rooms, tasteful decor, plush bedding, and views of the Montagne Noire through the large windows. La Villa de Mazamet is a beautifully restored Belle Époque mansion with a warm, elegant feel and modern comforts. The attention to detail throughout is striking. The property has a lovely garden, heated outdoor pool, and luxurious spa. A fine mix of French elegance, personal service, and scenic surroundings. I highly recommend it for a memorable stay in France.
