Four Seasons Hotel Megeve

The treatments themselves were lovely and relaxing. The Spanish and Italian massage therapists were super good, and I have no complaint about the treatment. The policy around spa access, though, was ridiculous to me. My friend and I paid more than €600 in total for a 75-minute massage and a 75-minute facial, and expected we could at least use the pool afterward. We were told that a couple of hours by the pool would cost another €280 for both of us. The receptionist said access would have been included with a 90-minute treatment, but my massage options were only 60 or 75 minutes. I've never encountered this at other five-star spas around the world, and wanted to warn others.

The duck was the standout, with crisp skin and incredibly tender meat. The sushi was just as impressive, exceptionally fresh and prepared with stunning precision. Professional service and an elegant atmosphere made every detail feel flawless.

The brasserie food was consistently well prepared, and their homemade gluten-free bread was the best I've had. We visited for the first time in summer and loved the outdoor activities and nearby mountain hikes. It's also a lovely place to find some quiet. The chalet sits at the very top of Mont d'Arbois, with an ideal view in every direction. Everything was perfect.

Our dog sledding activity with the children was booked with help from the Guest Relations Manager at Four Seasons Megève. We arrived ten minutes late after walking through snow with a toddler, but the vendor excluded the kids, let another family's nannies take their sledge, and told the business owner we'd arrived twenty minutes late. After we'd been there a few minutes, with two employees completely ignoring my family, I messaged the concierge at 4:16 to say we thought other people had taken our sledge. It's in the Four Seasons system. The on-site Experience Manager stayed with me but blamed the problem on our lateness. I cried for two hours from anger and humiliation. Then she offered a hot bath as a gesture, which felt cheap and inadequate for a luxury brand. The activity was refunded, but that wasn't the point. Our family experience was ruined. Four Seasons Megève needs better vendor coordination and meaningful service recovery to meet luxury and FS global standards. For context, I made a mistake by not opening the message in the FS app. I thought it was just a confirmation, not instructions. I asked the bellman what time to leave, and he said to leave the hotel five minutes before the activity. The children's place should have been reserved since we arrived within the 15-minute late policy. If we had arrived at 4:15, the activity should have been canceled and not refunded. That would've been their right.
