The views from those huge windows are incredible, though the cobbled street climbs to the top of the hill, so keep mobility in mind. Jasmine grows all around and makes the place smell lovely. Staying here with my parents felt like stepping into a 17th-century mansion. The rooms, Nancy and Eleanor, are enormous and beautifully furnished with period pieces. I booked both, and they sit in their own section across a book-filled sitting room. The house feels lived in and lovingly renovated, with the little imperfections that give it charm. There’s no staff on site, which made it feel as if we just lived there, but we still had what we needed, including wifi, sun hats and umbrellas. Shared spaces include a huge library, a cozy parlor, a beautiful dining room and a period kitchen where breakfast is ready each morning. The croissants were some of the best I’ve had. Even the broom closet is lovely, seriously, go look! It’s an adventure for anyone who loves antiques.
