Hotel Napoleon

The receptionist was very helpful, and the room and pool were nice. It’s across from the seafront, with a supermarket and parking nearby, and close to town.

We enjoyed our garden-view room and balcony, and breakfast offered plenty of good choices. The location works well for both the old town and Menton Garavan station, with frequent trains to other resorts. All the staff were friendly and helpful during our six-night stay. A family medical emergency at home meant we had to leave a day early. The receptionist and manager were extremely kind and helpful, understood the situation, and didn’t charge us for the final night. We really appreciated that consideration. We’d definitely stay again if we return to Menton. Thank you, Jeff and Alison Cheetham.

Our room at the back looked toward the hillside, with lovely views and a quiet feel. There are walking trails around the hotel that head up the hills, so you won’t be bored. The rooms were comfortable, the hotel nicely appointed, and everything had a fresh coat of paint. The elevators were quick. Staff were kind and spoke excellent English, which we appreciated as visitors from New York City.

We picked Hotel Napoleon because it had larger beds, which mattered since I’m almost 2-meteres tall, and ended up loving the place. The hotel, rooms, and staff were welcoming, and the cleanliness stood out from the front desk and elevators to the hallways and our room. Across the street from the beaches of Menton, it was an unexpected pleasure. Our room on the beach side had a breathtaking view, and we slept well, often with the window open for the fresh Mediterranean air. We were there in early May 2024, before the busy tourist season, so the town and hotel were quieter, which we enjoyed. We didn’t have breakfast because we had other plans each day, though it looked inviting. The comfortable bar was quiet at that time of year, but staff were easy to find when we needed something. The pool was open, though the weather wasn’t fully cooperative. The staff were first rate: we got a warm greeting every time we passed reception, and housekeeping were professional and polite. We had plenty of places to choose from for our four days in Menton and knew nothing about Hotel Napoleon beforehand. We couldn’t be happier with our choice. Thanks to the team for making the stay so enjoyable.
