We discovered this place during our March 2022 stay. Thaly was so kind and welcoming, and she showed us the treasures her son has collected. It felt like a lovely trip back in time.

There’s a river running right beside the house, and I can imagine the grounds are lovely for an evening stroll. This is a truly “wow” place, with something surprising about it as soon as you step outside into an American world. We stayed with a local family, in the guest part of the house: two very comfortable bedrooms, a small bathroom, and a sitting area with a TV. Breakfast included local bread, pastries, jams, hot drinks, and orange juice. The owner can also make dinner for €12 per person. With our young baby, we did that for three days, and it was really convenient to let her sleep in her room while we had a good meal. The owner is happy to tell you what to see nearby, and her son will probably offer a guided tour of the grounds and house, which is sure to surprise you. It’s suitable for adults and children alike. I’ll let you discover it for yourselves.

I didn’t take photos, but everything matched the description. It’s a quiet, beautiful, one-of-a-kind place, with a lovely cottage, a warm welcome, and a beautiful collection. A real gem.

A very distinctive gîte, and thanks to our host for showing us around! The welcome was excellent. It’s a handy stop between the North and the Dordogne, just 10 minutes from Chambord.

There were two adults and two children in our group, and we spent one night at Thalie’s place. We were welcomed very well. I highly recommend it.
