The dinners were mostly good, with three choices each for starters, mains, and desserts. The special New Year’s Eve menu was excellent. Staff were always friendly, helpful, and attentive, and the lounge has a nice games area. It’s a comfortable hotel close to Meribel’s main lifts. The beds were comfortable, the showers lovely, and the room heating worked well. We could warm the room during the day, then switch the heater off to sleep cooler. You can hear live music from neighbouring jacks bar in the restaurant and rooms, though it stops around 7-7:30pm. I found it a bit irritating after a while; the rest of my family didn’t mind, and it wouldn’t put me off staying again.

Dinner was excellent, with a different three-course meal each night. Breakfast was included too, though it didn’t particularly impress me. The staff were extremely welcoming, and there’s a ski locker room with boot dryers. For skiing, the location is hard to beat. It’s a three-minute walk to four major lifts right in the center of the valley, and there are restaurants, shops, and the main tourism building nearby as well. The rooms felt a little small and dated, but it wasn’t a problem for my wife and me.

The food was the best part of our stay. Every evening there were three starters and three mains to choose from, and it was hard to pick just one. We usually go to catered chalets, but this was even better for both taste and portion size. We were a family of four there during half term. The room was basic and cramped with all of us and our luggage, though we mostly just used it for sleeping. A curtain across the bunk entrance would help in the evenings, once the kids are in bed and you still want a light on. The location is superb, right by the slopes, which is especially handy when you’re exhausted at the end of the day. The bus stops for Altiport and Mottaret are opposite, and the nearest supermarket is a 5-10 minute walk away. Everyone on staff was warm, polite, and helpful, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. We loved our stay and would recommend it for the location and hotel.

The staff were brilliant, polite, and helpful, and the food was faultless. All our evening meals were great three-course dinners, and breakfast had an adequate choice of continental items, fruit, cereal, bacon, and eggs. We spent a week here in early March with three others. The rooms were cramped, basic, and dated, but the beds were clean and the shower was hot, which is all I need from a room. It’s perfectly placed for the Meribel lifts, with the bar next door making it a good spot for apres. The only downside was the restaurant toilet, which is shared with the neighbouring bar. It’s usually fine, but after three hours of apres it gets messy. I’d absolutely stay again.

This was my third stay over the past couple of years, travelling solo, and I’ve come back because the team makes me feel so welcome and comfortable. Meg and the front-of-house team, Polly, Lizzy, Emily, and all the girls, were friendly, kind, chatty, and helpful. I’ve had two twin rooms with wonderful views and one without. All were clean, tidy, spacious, and warm, with tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast always has a great hot and cold selection, including delicious homemade granola. Dinner is a fabulous three-course meal, with the menu changing each night. Big thanks to the kitchen team for the yummy food. The Jacks bar staff next door are also super friendly, and apres is a lovely way to unwind after skiing. Paddy James was my favourite. I’d highly recommend staying here when visiting Meribel.
