Adams Hotel

The price was low and the staff were friendly. It was easy to find, and the rooms were okay, but they needed more cleaning. The bed smelled like an ashtray, the toilet was disgusting, and the heating didn't work.

The plumbing was incredibly loud, and it kept the hotel noisy all night. Our first rooms smelled of ashtrays, so we changed rooms, but the new ones smelled of smoke too, as did the corridors and stairwell. There were no smoking signs on the doors and around the hotel, but they clearly weren't being enforced. Breakfast was okay, but once we'd added it at €7.70 per person, including the kids, the price matched an Ibis, where breakfast is free for children. I wouldn't choose to stay here again.

The room was small, but clean and worked fine, and breakfast was simple with what you need. It's good value, with a tram stop to the city center less than 100 meters away.

For a budget place, this was great value. Check-in was friendly and helpful, and I was able to arrive early, leave the car, then walk into Metz. The room had what I need as a solo traveler: clean sheets and towels, plus hot water for a shower. There were even USB sockets beside the bed. I added breakfast to the booking and thought it was excellent value, with plenty of continental options. The staff member also showed me how the coffee machine worked. Fantastic service.
