Résidence Meudon-la-Forêt

On this, my third stay, I noticed a clear drop in quality compared with my earlier visits. The linen and towels were not acceptable: suspicious marks on the foldable bed sheets, blood on a pillow, and stained, torn kitchen towels. We also found several insects in the room. The room itself was adequate, but those issues were hard to overlook. Parking was another problem. I requested a spot three months ahead, but at check-in they said I’d have to park 1 km away. Requests didn’t seem to matter, and it appeared to be first come, first served. I parked on the nearby street instead, because walking 20 minutes to the parking each time I needed the car was too inconvenient. The check-in process asks guests to contact the manager 30 minutes before arrival. That’s not practical when driving, since traffic makes it hard to know exactly when you’ll arrive. We were delayed, and the manager kept asking us to confirm an exact arrival time we couldn’t provide. Staff communication was frustrating too, as they seemed to understand little French or English. I asked for clean towels and got “Hello, OK, thanks.” The laundry room was poorly managed, though this wasn’t directly the hotel’s fault. On our first day another guest stopped our wash, put our wet laundry in a bag, and used the machine for their own clothes. Only one of the three dryers seemed to work properly. I hope the property can get back to the standard it had in 2023, which I mentioned in my earlier review. In 2023, I spent six nights in the smallest studio and was very satisfied. The staff were friendly and the service was great. With a car, you were assigned a spot in the secured underground parking. The clean room had a full set of cooking utensils and basics like salt, oil, vinegar and pepper. The bathroom had only a shower. There was free laundry on the third floor, though sometimes you had to wait a while for a machine. A small supermarket and a bakery were on the street. The area was still under construction and not very pleasant, but I thought it would probably improve.
