Mercure Grenoble Meylan

During my month-long stay, breakfast had very little variety, and cleanliness was only so-so, especially on weekends. The biggest recurring issue was noise: neighboring room doors slammed loudly, and I could hear the banging clearly. Soft-close mechanisms on the doors might help. There were also room issues. The heater in the shower in room 406 shut off after only a few seconds. The air conditioning was locked at 25°C, so I couldn’t lower it, and at that setting it didn’t run properly to circulate air. I hope these maintenance and service problems can be addressed.

We’ve stayed three times and enjoyed each visit. The rooms are spacious, modern, and very tidy, and the hotel is aging gracefully. It’s in Meylan, which is convenient for Grenoble and for skiing, as we were doing. The receptionists are always ready to help, and the staff pay close attention to guests’ comfort. We absolutely love the breakfasts at Hotel Meylan. Even when the power went out during breakfast, they sorted it out quickly.

I booked a room with air conditioning because I arrived in the middle of a hot summer after traveling from a colder climate. At check-in, nobody told me the AC wasn’t working. When I called the front desk that night, I was told it was out of service for maintenance and that I could leave if I wanted. I was disappointed, and wondered why they hadn’t said this when I arrived, since I could have looked for somewhere else to stay.

There’s a bus stop right outside, although the location feels a little like the middle of nowhere. For a business hotel, it’s perfect. The rooms are spacious, the service is kind and efficient, and breakfast is just right. One of the best French hotels I’ve stayed in.
