gîtes au domaine Greiner

The owners were friendly, and they let guests arrive late if they give advance notice. The place sits quietly by the vineyards, a little secluded, and the accommodation was roomy, comfortable, and clean. The only issue was a sink that leaked.

These aren't just rooms at Domaine Greiner, they're cottages with full equipment and linens included, plain but comfortable. The location is handy too: Riquewihr is 2km away, and Colmar, Ribeauvillé, and Turckheim are only a few kilometers off. The Vosges Mountains are nearby as well if you get too hot.

The lack of any reply was the most disappointing part, so take care to check the cancellation terms. We booked a vacation rental through Airbnb, but our young children got so ill that we couldn't travel. We had to cancel on departure day and explained what happened through several channels. I know it was our fault, but it was a substantial sum, so we suggested a few possible compromises, like a case of wine. We didn't hear back about the cancellation or receive any well wishes. Since this is a large wine company, I had expected excellent customer service, but that wasn't our experience. We can't comment on the rental itself, though the view would surely be fantastic.

The apartment was roomy and handy with a baby, with a cot and baby bath. We got a warm welcome even though we arrived late. A great base for going around the Christmas markets!
