Camping Île Percée

We first came here in August 2022 after a recommendation from a friend who used to live nearby. We returned in August 2023 and have just booked again for this August. It's a simple, no-frills site, quiet, clean and well maintained, much like the campsites my parents took my brother and me to in the 1970s. That's exactly what we wanted. The modern facilities you need for a relaxing week by the sea are there, and the owners are lovely and friendly. There are quiet local trails and walks, and the sandy cove below the site is just a five-minute walk from your pitch.

The beach is very close, which is the one good thing here. The pitches are tiny and packed tightly together. The sanitaires are old and tatty, need a complete renovation, and the showers aren't very warm. You also can't dispose of wastewater or empty a toilet cassette here. The only large bin is down the lane by the seafront, so you have to walk there. It's not far, but it's a bit of a nuisance.

The owners are kind and welcoming, and the campsite is wonderfully peaceful. We stayed for three nights on our second visit, and wished we'd booked longer. We'll definitely come back again. Thanks, Michel! We finally listened to Johnny Hallyday, Michel, Tres bien! Warmest wishes, Karen and Scott.

We were staying in a motorhome, so I can't rate the rooms. The site is perched on a small cliff right above the sea, and the location is fantastic. It's a very low-key campsite. The sanitaires are a little dated but fine, and everything works. Loved it, we'll be back.
