Château des Vigiers

We've stayed here at least six times and keep coming back. The location, hotel, food, golf and bars are all lovely, and we were lucky to have beautiful weather. We borrowed an iron and ironing board; the board was awkward to set up and was missing a small piece, but we managed. That's our only tiny complaint, and we're already planning our next trip to the chateau and golf.

My son and I spent four nights at Le Relais, which suited us perfectly. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean, and the breakfast each morning was a good option and worth €22. We had two meals at the Bistro Restaurant, including the three-course set menu for €40, and enjoyed them. We played golf once and liked it, though a competition meant we couldn't play more. My one gripe is the hired clubs: €20 for a half set for 9 holes feels like they could be better. When the battery in my hired car key caused trouble, Sandra sorted it out far more efficiently than the hire car company.

We can always count on a wonderful stay here, which is why we love returning to our favourite place. The accommodation is great, the staff are really attentive, and the food is great too. There are three lovely courses, though they can be challenging.

The spa is very complete, though availability is limited, so book ahead. We also loved the three golf courses, especially Vallée and Lac, which were in great condition and set in gorgeous surroundings. The place itself is beautiful, the service is great, and the food is delicious. A fantastic experience.
