At €1200 for a week in August, the Émeraude cottage sleeps four, with a sofa bed in the living room, and I expected a better standard for the price. The location is good, the facilities look good on paper, and we were warmly welcomed on arrival, but the stay didn’t justify the cost. The cottage feels dated and lacks charm. A new coat of paint isn’t the same as a renovation, and the bathrooms still have bidets that look like they date from the 80s at best. Cleanliness was only average; the equipment was complete but low-end; the bedding was poor; and sound carries badly from the cottage above, so peace and quiet depend on your neighbors. The pool wasn’t very clean, the sun loungers were damaged, and the area around it was never tidy. The owner always has a response, but didn’t seem interested in understanding comments or suggestions. There are better options, possibly for less.

Domaine du Bossu made for a relaxing, cultural and culinary stay in a superb setting. There’s Blonde d'Aquitaine cattle for anyone interested in agriculture, as well as a pool and a beach fit for a palace. Valérie Mathouillet and her mother gave us a wonderful welcome and took excellent care of us.

We spent seven weeks in this gîte and had a very warm, friendly welcome from the owners. It’s a peaceful place to stay and a great base for discovering this beautiful region. Thank you, Valérie and Dany!

The owners were extremely friendly and always available during our last week of July stay. There’s a great pool and a lovely pond in the beautiful park. Our husky was very welcome too 😉

I’m happy living here year-round in a very lovely apartment. The outdoor space with its terrace is beautiful, and the location is calm, peaceful and very restful. The heating has been renovated, it’s individually controlled electric heating, the insulation has been improved, and there is now double glazing following the change of owner.
