We stepped off the GR30 long-distance hike for a shorter stage and a bit of comfort. The room was great and very comfortable, and we could hear the river all night. We’d booked a fantastic vegetarian dinner in advance, and the chef was great. After a good night’s sleep, breakfast was a letdown. A waitress brought coffee and hot chocolate that were undrinkable, the brioche was stale, and the industrial jam had no taste. It’s a shame, since many local hotels use local produce. Still, despite breakfast, we had a positive experience.

The bed was very comfortable. I woke to a stunning mountain view after falling asleep looking at the stars. The hosts were friendly, and the straightforward breakfast gave me the fuel I needed for a long day ahead. Hard to beat for the price. I’d give it 6 stars if I could.

I booked through booking.com and went for the Demi Pension option at 29 euros per person. That includes a fixed three-course dinner and a continental-style breakfast, though there are a couple of other choices if the set menu doesn’t suit you. The room was a reasonable size, and the shower room was clean and tidy. The hotel is about 50 meters from the main chair lift. It’s a 2 star hotel, and I wasn’t disappointed. The staff were very friendly, and I’ll return.
