We got there at 17.30, after saying we’d arrive between 17.00 and 18.00, and found nobody there. The contact number went to an answering machine. A neighbour said this had happened to other people too. We left at 17.45 and found somewhere else to stay. There was a missed call on my phone, timed at 17.54.

Breakfast is optional at this nice, clean hotel, which has a magnificent view.

The breakfast was good, with a varied selection, and the lounge area with the bar is a pleasant place to relax. There’s also a games room. Our room was small but clean, with a view of Capucin and a stream. The hotel has a typical mountain-style decor, and it’s a five-minute walk to the centre. The receptionist was helpful and looked after both reception and breakfast service. It did feel as though they might be short-staffed. Keys aren’t available until 17.00, so the door is closed before then. We couldn’t make use of the lounge for a drink because we were short on time.

We stayed two nights with our two four-year-old children and had no heating or hot water. It was a very difficult situation, especially with young kids. We were promised compensation while there, but it’s now been more than a year and we’re still waiting. After three follow-ups and several emails, we never got a reply. The lack of follow-through and consideration is very disappointing. We don’t recommend this place.
