There’s plenty of space, and the beds are very comfortable. But we struggled to get the temperature right: it was cold downstairs and too hot in the bedroom. Armchairs would’ve been a nice addition. The region isn’t very well known, though it has lots of potential for hiking.

The donkey ride was a highlight for the children. They could take turns riding and leading it, after a lovely bakery visit where the kids could join a hands-on workshop and parents could take part too. We finished with a guided tour and a tasting of delicious organic mountain cheese. Such a shame the owner will be retiring soon! It was a wonderful afternoon for families or friends. The whole team worked so well together, and everyone took the time to share their passion and connect with us.

We loved waking up to a magnificent sunrise at the "Le Levant" guesthouse. It’s wonderfully immersed in nature and felt like a complete change of scenery. The hosts were kind and welcoming, with lots of helpful advice. In the evening, they serve meals made with their own produce or local ingredients. Highly recommend if you enjoy nature and hiking and want a change of scenery!

You can really tune in to nature here, and several lovely hikes start right from the gîte. The trails felt quiet, with a better chance of spotting a deer than another group of hikers. Mélanie and Laurent make you feel welcome in this little corner of paradise. It’s a relaxing place to get away, and be sure to try their cooking and honey.
