Finding the hotel was difficult, but everything else about our overnight stay delighted us. Madame was charming and helpful, making sure we were comfortable. Breakfast was superb, possibly the best we've ever had in France. We couldn't recommend it more to anyone staying in Montbrison.

We won't be back. The room was dated and not very clean, the floorboards were noisy, and the market woke us at 5 am. There was no parking space either. Really not great.

I'm back to tell you the plain truth, as I always do. This was a particular experience, though, so readers should be cautious when making up their own minds. Booking was efficient. An email with the information we needed to get in arrived right after we made the reservation, as nobody was there to meet us. The B&B was clean and welcoming, right in the town center and convenient since there's no ZTL. It has no air conditioning, just a rotating fan. Luckily, the African heatwave had just passed in early July 🤪 The next morning the owner had a generous, varied breakfast waiting for us, with only the milk and coffee coming from vending machines. There's no wifi, but I didn't find that a problem. We'd come back! See you next time, friends!
