Our room was clean and practical, with a lovely balcony and a nice view. The two owners were friendly, helpful, and spoke English well. We stopped here while walking the Camino, and had a great dinner and good breakfast at the restaurant. They brew their own beer, which was especially good after a long walk. If you’re not staying here, do yourself a favor and eat here.

The beds are lumpy and the bathroom is basic, even though the rooms are clean. The welcome was desultory at best, and the fact that the hotel is for sale shows. It’s definitely a one-star property, and you could find a gîte for the same price.

The food and wine were great, and the host was very accommodating. Our room was okay, with a lovely garden view. It’s a 10-minute walk from the city center, and good value for money.

We stayed at Hotel La Baguelonne for two nights and really enjoyed it. Our room, number 9, had a large terrace looking out onto trees and gardens, and it was quiet and peaceful. The hosts were charming and helpful, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was new with a great shower. We had delicious pizzas for dinner. They were large, so our hostess packed up the half we couldn’t finish for our Camino walk the next day. The hotel is a kilometre outside the lovely town of Montcuq, but we’d recommend it.

We went on a Thursday evening for Moules-Frites. It was really busy and clearly popular with locals, but the service was great, the food was good, and the atmosphere was lively. Clean and efficient, with a simple but varied menu. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and would definitely recommend it and come back ourselves.
