Le Domaine de Camboyer - The Originals Collection

The staff made us feel at home, and the farmhouse has been beautifully restored with a refined take on its original 17th-century design. My husband and I had a lovely three-night stay at this peaceful property. It’s also a handy base for day trips around this beautiful area.

The evening cheese board made especially for us was such a thoughtful welcome. We also enjoyed choosing a favorite scent from the selection of locally made soaps, and the rooms and spa helped make the stay feel like a real getaway. The peaceful, picturesque setting at Domaine de Camboyer was lovely, and the hospitality was warm throughout. The Domaine has a rich history as the ancestral home of the de Reynes family, descendants of Flemish settlers. The family is said to have helped build the Canal du Midi, and the estate may have been granted in recognition of that contribution. A memorable place to unwind and feel well looked after.

The spa was a highlight, with its sauna, hot tub, and impressive massage equipment. Private use for two costs €80, though an hour felt too short, and we wish we’d stayed another night at this lovingly renovated hotel. From the owner Isabella’s warm welcome to the food, room, massage from Delphine, and checkout with her daughter, everything was exceptional. Do make time for the spa.

Without air conditioning, my room was a little uncomfortable for sleeping during the hot summer weather. Breakfast also could be better quality for the price, with more choice. The staff were helpful, and the property is beautiful and well placed for visiting Toulouse as well as farther south, including Carcassonne. Good value overall.
