L'Alpi Cozie, rénové en 2020, pied des pistes et spa

There’s plenty of room for a family or a group of friends, with lots of bedrooms, a kids’ TV room, a sauna and a really well-equipped kitchen. The decor is lovely, too. The terrace gets plenty of sun and has a great view over the slopes, with the ski school right across the way. We had a great stay and would happily come back. Highly recommend.

We’d go back in a heartbeat. The huge terrace is great for a meal or a drink before or after skiing, and there are separate areas for kids and adults, plus a private spa. Every bedroom has its own bathroom. It’s a beautiful apartment, thoughtfully decorated and equipped, with stunning views over the slopes. Five stars, and then some!

We were a group of 10, two families with children aged 3-12 and two grandparents, and there was comfortable space for everyone. The living room and terrace look out over the mountains, so you can watch the kids start out at ski school. The main lift is right in front, and you can ski in and out of the apartment. Finding parking was never a problem, even when the town was busy. The apartment was bright, clean and newly renovated, and the kitchen had everything we needed for hungry days in the mountains. We barely noticed other guests, except when we passed neighbors in the ski room, so it felt private and spacious. Inside, the warm decor makes the flat feel like a home. The kids loved the bunk room, and I tried one of the beds too. They’re built to fit the room and comfortable for adults as well as children. There’s also a good sauna to enjoy after skiing. We’re looking forward to coming back in summer.

I almost didn’t want to write this because I’d selfishly like to keep the apartment to myself, but that wouldn’t be fair to the owners or to the lovely village of Montgenèvre. The apartment is right in the heart of the village, with gorgeous mountain views from its huge terrace. I visited in summer and could see the ski runs nearby. The lift is just across the road. There’s loads to do in summer too, including mountain biking, golf, luge, beach volleyball, kayaking, basketball and tennis. You’re spoiled for choice for walks and hikes. Follow one of the trails and you can reach Claviere, Italy, in under 30 minutes, with more trails, ski runs, charming restaurants and cafes. Claviere also has the Tibetan Bridge, with a section for via ferrata. The apartment itself is world-class and feels like a home away from home. It has beautiful furniture, a fully equipped kitchen, three very spacious double bedrooms with big, comfortable beds, and an ensuite toilet and bath in each one. There’s also a cleverly designed room with six bunk beds, a separate sauna with an attached shower, and a TV room. I came back from the mountains feeling transformed and refreshed. You don’t need much else beyond a stay at Alpi Cozie.
