Hôtel les Boucles de Meuse

The restaurant is in a separate room from the bar, and it has a lovely warm feel with a river view. I liked it, and the riverside terrace has a few outdoor tables too. The bar on the corner looks a little bright and empty, though. We were staying at the hotel. It's not especially modern, but it has what you need and was convenient. The staff were very friendly. The menu is limited, and unfortunately everything is meat based. The dishes were very good quality and nicely presented. The Mirabelles cake was amazing.

We booked ahead and got a lively terrace table with a view of the river. Thomas gave excellent service and spoke good English. The food and wine were tasty and very good.

We'd arrived by boat and were feeling very hot. When we said we only wanted drinks and a small bite, they refused to serve us. The obnoxious lady told us we had to order a full meal or get lost. Very unfriendly.

They don't serve food before noon, and we couldn't pay by debit card. We had no cash, so we asked if we could get some at the bank while one of us stayed in the café. They said our coffee could be on the house instead. Very kind of them.
