Hôtel Inn Design Le Havre Nord Montivilliers

We arrived shortly after 10 pm, before the 11 pm deadline stated in the booking information, but nobody was at reception, so we had to call. A receptionist came a few minutes later and told us there was no room because the hotel was full. She said they had tried to charge my card at 6 pm, the payment failed, and they had given the room to someone else. Advance payment was never mentioned in the terms, and we’d only been told to arrive by 11 pm for the booking to be guaranteed. When I asked why nobody had told me it was cancelled, she had no real answer and seemed busy arguing with other guests who arrived after us. The staff were impolite and unprofessional. We had to find somewhere else late on a Saturday night, which was difficult at such short notice.

The receptionist was friendly, but the place was a complete disaster. My first room hadn’t been cleaned, and the bed looked as if someone had just left it. I asked to move, but the next room was dirty too: dried spit in the sink, an uncleaned bath, and dust everywhere. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels and have never been this disappointed at this price. Kyriad must have sold it for a reason. The new owners call it "Design Hotel," which is a joke. If this counts as design, my Fiat Multipla is a racecar and I’m a supermodel. It feels like a ruin from the 80s, and perhaps it was last built and cleaned back then.

At least the staff were pleasant. The rest of the stay wasn’t: breakfast was almost nonexistent, and the walls were so thin you could hear everyone coming in if your room was by the entrance.

A great place for a stopover, or a base away from the city’s crowds and higher prices. It was perfect for that, and having an on-site restaurant made it better than other Kyriads I’ve stayed at. The Wi-Fi was okay, and there was free parking under surveillance. Personally, I’d have preferred a modern walk-in shower in a wet room to the old-fashioned bath.
