Chambre d hôtes

We couldn't sleep properly. By morning my eyes were red from asthma and my allergy to dust and dust mites, and the smell of old, dusty things was strong as soon as we reached the first floor. The room itself was spacious, with tea and coffee, but it felt roughly furnished. The pillows were sofa cushions with worn, uncomfortable covers, and the sheets were in the same state. There was an old, dirty throw in the closet. The bathroom was large and had a jacuzzi and shower, but there was only one rough, faded, old towel, so I couldn't use either. No soap or shower gel, no bag in the bathroom bin, see-through curtains, and a locked door I couldn't access. Getting there was difficult because there were no lights or visible signs. The owner answered right away and kindly opened the gate, though we struggled several times to open and close it because it was old. She showed us to the entrance, but she didn't speak English, so I had to interpret. The welcome and stay left me feeling like an unwanted guest. One good thing, the hairdryer had a diffuser.
