The hosts were charming, attentive, and gave us great tips for visits and hikes. We especially appreciated the peaceful natural setting, the pool, and the breakfast. The rooms had a large bathroom, wheelchair access, a refrigerator, and a microwave. Shops and restaurants in Lons-le-Saunier are conveniently close, too. A huge thank you to Joëlle and François for such a warm welcome. Everything was perfect.

Joëlle and François were so down-to-earth and kind, and we’ll remember that about our stay. It was a wonderful, refreshing break, thanks in large part to how warmly our hosts welcomed us.

I stayed here for three months and would definitely return. The owners were friendly, pleasant, and accommodating, and the place is very well equipped. Its countryside setting is ideal, with Lons-le-Saunier and the motorway both well placed in relation to it.

We’ve been coming to La Ferme de Montard for several years, especially around the Percée du Vin Jaune festival, sometimes as a couple, sometimes with friends or our grown children. Joëlle and François are exceptionally welcoming, and we really value their kindness and dedication to their guests. This former farmhouse has rustic charm and feels authentic to its rural, bucolic setting. There’s no Parisian pretension or home-makeover-show trendiness here, just the Jura region, simplicity, and good company. If you like greenery, countryside, and quiet, you’ll feel at home. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable, so it’s easy to get a restful night or several. Breakfast is served French-style in the large veranda, which gets lovely and warm when the sun is out. You can have tea, coffee, or hot chocolate with good country bread, a cake Joëlle has made, or croissants, along with homemade jams. It’s a wonderful way to start the day. Dinner is traditional and generous, and you certainly won’t leave hungry. We adore this place. Even a two-day stay gives us a lovely escape and a chance to find some peace in this beautiful house.
