We had a very nice meal at this restaurant in a beautiful part of Montpellier. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the service was excellent. My wife had the ris de veau and I ordered the langue du boeuf. Both were excellent, especially the langue, which was prepared perfectly. The setting was pleasant, though a little austere. Excellent quality for the price, and worth a detour.

The Aperol spritz was bad. I think they used cheap Prosecco. You’re paying for the view and getting low quality drinks.

Montpellier has plenty of great architecture, but this building still managed to surprise me. It looks fantastic from the outside.

The ambience was nice, but the food and service were dreadful. I ordered lamb and was served fish, so I sent it back. Ten minutes later the lamb arrived burnt outside and raw inside. When I complained, they didn’t seem surprised or bothered. Even the coffee with milk came out wrong. What should’ve been a nice meal for the two of us was ruined. I told them in French I wouldn’t be back, and got a Gallic shrug.
