Coeur Urbain Bedrooms - Centre Gare

I left and paid three times as much for a hotel because I wanted privacy and to feel safe. In this place, I didn't feel secure sharing with strangers, especially with the person in the next room making strange noises and behaving very roughly. There was no reception, and the poor soundproofing meant I could hear everything he did. The room was dirty and smelled musty. It was advertised as having a city-view window, but there wasn't a window in the room at all. There was only a glass door leading to an area outside the room, and it was almost impossible to close properly. The room next door could access it too, so I wasn't sure I'd managed to shut it completely, and that person could have come into my room. There was no way to air the room out. The office chair was broken and unusable. I left to avoid taking risks.

The location was great, and the key pickup was quick and efficient. The kitchen was also fine. Everything else was a letdown: the website photos were completely inaccurate and the place needs renovation. My room was dirty, with stains on the walls, curtains, and sheets. It smelled bad, the bed creaked, and there was no hot water in the shower for the whole week. My groceries were even stolen from the shared fridge twice.

I didn't expect a place in this condition, especially after traveling for a while. The whole apartment smelled awful, and there was no real way to air it out because the windows were only pseudo-windows, shared with another room. The curtains had puke on them, the air conditioner was filthy and didn't work, and there was mold all over the bathroom because it had no ventilation. I don't recommend staying here.

Move along, there's nothing to see here. I paid €88 a night for two nights, but when I came back on Wednesday, June 22nd at 5 PM, there was still nobody at reception to open the door or welcome me to my room. It was the same situation as before. At 4 rue Alexis Alquie, there was no sign outside saying it was a hotel. The building doorbell had the name “Coeur Urbain,” but nobody answered when I rang around 7:30 pm on Monday, June 20th. Another resident let me in. Inside, an arrow at the bottom of the dark stairway pointed to the “Coeur Urbain bedrooms” apartment, but nobody answered that bell either. I called the numbers listed on Google, but the voicemails were full and nobody picked up. It was 8 pm, and I had to urgently find another hotel room, knowing that places are often fully booked at that time of year. A rip-off!
