Ibis Montpellier Sud

I arrived at about 10pm and soon found ants all over the room, including the bathroom and bedroom floors and even the bed linen. I had to go back to reception and spend more time sorting it out before they moved me to another room, which thankfully had no ants. I appreciate that they found me a replacement, but the whole thing was unpleasant and inconvenient, especially so late at night. The €150 deposit also seems excessive, and the receptionist's behavior during the process left a lot to be desired.

The hotel was clean and well maintained, with friendly staff and nice dining facilities. I stayed three nights in June. My room was a decent size, with a large bed and good air conditioning. There's a tram stop nearby, as well as a small supermarket.

The staff were friendly and spoke English, and the place could be okay if you get it cheap. Otherwise, I wouldn't say it's worth it. The bathroom was mouldy, the room was dirty, and the hotel is in a suburb far from the city centre. The restaurant mostly served frozen pizza heated in a microwave, with a hefty €16 price tag. That's French cuisine, I guess. ;)

The rooms felt a bit damp, though they were clean and tidy. The towels seemed to have fabric softener on them and didn't dry well. The restaurant was excellent, with lovely food and cheerful, positive staff, and breakfast was great too. There's a large secure car park, a supermarket and petrol station nearby, and it's easy to reach from the autoroute. It was great value when we stayed.
