Le Strasbourg Hotel

The staff were helpful and service minded, and the hotel was clean and pleasant, though basic. It’s well placed close to the city center. I’d recommend it.

The corridors and toilet smelled awful, and in the morning they tested the emergency sirens without warning, which scared me. I won’t stay here again. Parking was the worst part of this hotel experience. After a long drive from Zurich, I couldn’t get a reply to my emails about reserving a space. On arrival they asked for 17€, despite Booking advertising it at 12€. The garage was far from the hotel, hard to find at midnight, very tight to get into without scratching the car, and extremely small. Worst of all, its door was broken and could be opened from outside. I felt unsafe in the hotel, the parking area, and the neighborhood. I ended up using a public 24-hour car park for 27€, and lost an hour dealing with it.

My kids were afraid to use the bathroom water, and the smell on the stairs was really unpleasant. You could also hear noise from outside. I don’t understand the five-star comments. I work in housekeeping, and I was shocked by how the room had been cleaned. I have long black hair, and after we went out I noticed a lot of it around the room. The room was tidied while we were gone, but the hairs were still on the floor. I don’t mind a small one-star hotel, as long as it’s clean. I know cleaning is hard work, but when people pay for a room, it should be clean and smell good. Please do the job properly and give guests a decent stay.

The room wasn’t locked when we returned, which made us feel unsafe. One staff member always asked for our room key whenever we went out, as though it were a strict rule. Another worker was friendly, but wasn’t always at the hotel. It didn’t feel clean or safe, and the place looked like a three-star hotel from the last century. Check-in was done by hand on paper.
