L Echarpe d Iris

The couple running this unusual hotel clearly appreciate art. It seems to have just two rooms, both carefully decorated with distinctive art and textiles. The room had a TV and Wi-Fi, which worked well. I didn't use the TV. It was very cold, though the room was comfortable, and there were three power sockets. The bathroom was huge and had a shower, toilet, hair dryer, hand soap, three cups, three towels and bathrobes. I arrived at 4:30pm and they let me in. I also wanted to take photos early, around 6am, and that was no problem. Cars can enter through the front entrance and park there; if you arrive on foot, use the door on the right side of the property. They offered what seemed to be a free breakfast: baguette, coffee, jam and butter. The couple chatted with me and the other guests throughout breakfast. I was travelling alone to Montpeyrous, which may be unusual, and had a really good time thanks to the hotel, the great service and the fun conversation. Since I arrived by train at Parent Coudes-Champeix station, they kindly drove me to the station when I left Montpeyrous.
