Hôtel Robespierre

Avoid this place completely. My car was scratched, either by the hotel cats or by angry neighbors. The hotel doesn’t have its own car park.

It’s close to the metro, with a grocery store and pharmacy nearby, but far from the Paris sights. The neighborhood is a bit gritty, and the hotel itself is very basic, with small, sparse rooms and hard beds. They keep the front door locked. The front desk staff were pleasant, though they didn’t offer much. There’s a friendly hotel cat who came to visit us.

I was there with my family from January 25th to 28th, 2025, and the experience was incredibly disappointing. The hotel looked nothing like the photos. The lobby was dirty, with three cats in the breakfast area, but we tried to stay optimistic and checked in. Then we found out the “apartment” we’d booked was outside the hotel in a separate, abandoned area. We had to carry all our luggage through pouring rain and up stairs. Inside, it was filthy, smelled awful, and looked nothing like the pictures. It was uninhabitable. We asked to move to two rooms inside the hotel. After more hassle, we got two small rooms without basic amenities, and had to drag our luggage through the rain again to get there. It was late, so we had no choice but to stay the night. We left the next morning and booked another hotel. We lost money on a room we couldn’t use, had to pay for a taxi, and wasted valuable time. It was frustrating and ruined the start of our trip. I wouldn’t recommend Hôtel Robespierre Ex Idéal Hôtel Paris – Montreuil. It was nothing like advertised, and I want others to know about the poor conditions and lack of hospitality. Avoid it if you want a pleasant stay in Paris.

My experience was awful. The shower handle was held together with tape, and there was no bathroom door, which left the room very humid. Mold covered the wall, and the staff couldn’t move me to another room. The damp and mold made my health condition worse, so I had to book somewhere else. I paid 20 eur more per night for a place in much better condition and location, so this wasn’t even about the price.
