ibis Styles Paris Mairie de Montreuil

The metro is about a three-minute walk away, and there’s a pleasant shopping and restaurant area just a couple of minutes from the hotel. We stayed for a weekend in January 2025 and would happily come back. The room was very clean, breakfast was good, and the coffee was great. Staff were friendly, the underground parking was a bonus, and the beds were pretty comfortable, especially for European hotel beds, which I usually find too hard.

Breakfast was a mess the next morning, with dirty tables, no clean cutlery, hardly any food left and a broken orange juice machine. We managed to get a few croissants and some eggs. Most of the staff were unfriendly. The exception was a kind, helpful woman on the morning of May 5th, who was the only one who smiled. We arrived around noon because the website said check-in started at 12:00 PM, but our room wasn’t ready. I work in the hotel industry and understand delays, so we left our bags in the restaurant because the luggage room was full, then went into the city. At 6:30 PM, seven hours after arriving, they were still working on our room. That was completely unacceptable. I usually expect better from Ibis, but this stay was a real letdown. I’ll book somewhere else next time.

The bed was great, and there was enough space in the room to be comfortable. It was also clean and nice, but far too warm: the air conditioning couldn’t keep up even on days that were only 16°C. The toilet had flushing problems, too. The location is okay, near a shopping centre and the metro. In Paris you’ll probably take the metro into the centre anyway, so there’s nothing particularly special about the spot. Service was basic, but that was fine. The room was cleaned when requested, and breakfast was included, though very barebones.

The room was good, with a new bathroom, and the breakfast was good too. Staff were nice, and the metro station is only two minutes away. The air conditioning didn’t work during some hot days. We reported it, but nothing changed while we were there.
