I’d avoid this place, especially if you’re trying to use a Smartbox. The owner doesn’t seem keen on accepting them, and there’s no effort to make the process easier, not even as a courtesy. If that’s a problem, it’s odd to be listed with Smartbox in the first place. The booking story was hard to square. We were told on the phone that the restaurant was full, but when we tried through the booking platform, the reservation went through. At around 1 p.m. the restaurant was only half full. We may have arrived after an earlier seating, but only one table had been occupied before us. Even if it had been full earlier, accepting a 1 p.m. booking suggests there could be another seating. 😂 I can imagine regular customers without a Smartbox have a different experience and everything goes smoothly for them. The owner can run the place as he likes, but future customers, particularly Smartbox holders, should know what seems to happen. Another restaurant explained the Smartbox booking process to me, so the owner's apologies don't convince me that he was honest.

We spent a lovely evening by the fireplace, and the service was just as enjoyable as the food. The waiter was friendly and very professional. From the appetizer through dessert, everything tasted delicious. There was also a nice wine list and plenty of whiskies for anyone who enjoys them. We’ll definitely be back.

The renovated dining room looks beautiful, and each time I visit I enjoy the experience. The welcome is perfect, the food quality is undeniable, and the service is impeccable. Everything here is a pleasure, and I highly recommend the restaurant.

After an hour on the road, we reached the restaurant and found the door shut, with a notice saying it was exceptionally closed. We had booked by phone for dinner for two using a box and had also added a hotel room. We would have liked someone to let us know beforehand, which would have spared us two hours driving in the rain.

I was taken aback by how this was handled. When I said I wanted a table that evening for two adults and three children, I was told it wouldn’t be a problem. Then I mentioned honestly that I had a gift voucher, and suddenly I was told they were full. It felt completely unprofessional. We’d have liked to try the place, but instead got an unpleasant surprise.
