The best part of apartment 716 was the terrace, with its incredible Alpine views. The heating worked perfectly, though at times we were a bit too warm. It had an oven, dishwasher, induction hob, fridge, and enough kitchenware, but no microwave. The bath has no curtain or screen, so you have to be careful not to splash everything. For four people it felt small, even though it's meant to sleep five. With five, it would be cramped and uncomfortable. Apartments in Avoriaz are generally quite small.

This review is about apartment 716, not 1116. The village is car-free, so you can ski right to the door, and the entrance, lift, and front door all use electronic keys. The small, basic ski locker won't fit gear for five people. Inside, the kitchenette has an oven, fridge, induction hob, and dishwasher, but the apartment is small and poorly maintained. It suits two people best. There are two sofa beds and a pull-out bed, so five can sleep there, but it feels cramped and you get in each other's way. The bathroom and toilet are basic, and without a shower curtain the bathroom gets wet. Another apartment in the complex had a curtain and a microwave instead of an oven, so the apartments aren't all the same. It's especially unclear when booking what you'll get.

We had a good holiday at a reasonable price compared with other residences. The residence is right in the heart of the resort but stays quiet, and many of the apartments have been renovated.

Apartment 511 was far too expensive for what it was. It was tiny, very dirty when we arrived, and badly furnished. The kitchen was nowhere near up to date. There was no storage cupboard or hairdryer socket in the bathroom, the bulbs kept burning out, and there was no heating by the shower. The transparent curtain and lack of light in the apartment didn't help, and the corridor was dark too. There was a cigarette smell. The paintwork and decor left a lot to be desired. I had no choice but to take this place, but it's the worst I've stayed in Avoriaz and I wouldn't recommend it. There are many more things I could mention. I hope they improve it. The reception is much too far away, on the other side of Avoriaz.
