For the price, it’s fine. It’s very reasonably priced and probably the least expensive place in town, though the hotel is old and worn, so you get what you pay for. The continental breakfast is good, but the restaurant is closed and there’s no bar. WiFi is a little weak. The owner has two dogs that sometimes bark and occasionally run loose on the front lawn.

Morzine itself is lovely, and the location here is 10/10, which makes it sad that the hotel feels so neglected. It should be refurbished or even knocked down. The attractive flower and garden photos seem to show a much better time, when someone cared for the place. That’s clearly changed. It has plenty of character, but not the kind you want after a long day skiing. I wanted to spend as little time here as possible. In the late afternoon and evening the place is dark, with just one light bulb on at reception. Nobody seems to be around, and I’ve never found a hotel less welcoming. It’s not somewhere I’d want to eat. Breakfast is offered at €10 per person, but nobody chose it while I was there. There were comings and goings all hours of the night, paper-thin walls, no hot water, lukewarm radiators, uncomfortable beds and pillows, well-worn towels, and things that were broken, dirty, shabby or smelly. There was no atmosphere at all. Yes, it cost £1200 for four adults for four nights, so I accept that you get what you pay for. It was the last place available in town for me, and now I understand why. Bonne Valette should probably be renamed Mauvaise Valette. It deserves an award as the worst hotel in Morzine.

The breakfasts were extremely plentiful, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We had great rooms with fantastic views, close to uplifts on either side of the valley. The swimming pool was lovely.

I stay here often and it’s always a good experience and good value for money. Excellent value for money, with very friendly service right in the heart of Morzine.

The room was a bit small, but there’s a good ski room and a bar. Very good.
