A really nice family-run hotel. The woman at reception is kind and helpful, and the man at the bar is always smiling and brings good vibes. Their two lovely dogs come to greet you when you return from the slopes. When there’s enough snow, you can ski close to the hotel. Otherwise, the free shuttle stop is 50 meters away.

The hotel is in a quiet part of the village, and it’s an easy walk to the Le Pleney lift, which serves both the beginner slopes where lessons take place and more advanced terrain. Hourly, affordable door-to-door buses run from Geneva Airport to the hotel. Free shuttles between the resorts stop right outside, so you can come and go in ski boots, and there’s a gondola between Morzine and Avoriaz too. Breakfast is a warm meal and excellent. After skiing, there’s a sauna, indoor and outdoor pools, a steam room, and a pool table. The owners give the place a chalet feel, with two lovely dogs to greet you, and there’s a bar serving local produce and light meals. Restaurants are a minute or two away, and an excellent music bar and bakery are three minutes down a walking trail.

The service was the worst I’ve ever experienced. The staff were extremely rude and aggressive, especially the middle-aged woman at reception. I didn’t take my phone out of my room, but cleaner staff stole it. When Find My Phone showed it ringing behind reception, the receptionist was caught out and claimed it had been found in the “common area,” even though it never left my room. The room was very basic for the price and wasn’t good value. They use being a “family-run” business as an excuse for substandard service. Don’t fall for it.

The food was incredible. Breakfast had lots of variety and was replenished often, so we could fill up for the day with a view of the mountains. There were plenty of tempting options on the evening menu too, which we could preview for the week. The dining room seemed accommodating for allergies, though that wasn’t something we experienced ourselves. The dishes were hearty, flavorful, and delicious, and the waiting staff were lovely and happy to joke around. Our room was spacious, bright, and nicely decorated, with great views of the town and mountains. The balcony was handy for airing ski clothes in the evening, and would be a nice place to sit in summer. The beds were comfortable after busy days, and the bathrooms had good equipment. The hotel itself was lovely, with pleasant seating areas around the bar and pool table. We used the sauna and steam room, and the pool was a good size, though a little cold. The owners were lovely and even arranged an early breakfast for our morning departure. Their furry friends were adorable too. It’s a bit far from the telecabin, but an easy enough walk, just over five minutes if you’re quick. We had a great stay and would come back to Morzine.

We spent a week here in January and would happily return. The hotel and staff were lovely. We booked half board, and the evening meals were out of this world, beautifully presented and served. For all we know, there could’ve been a Michelin-starred chef in the kitchen, they were that good. We only used the spa facilities once, after coming back early from skiing one day. The owners also have a lovely dog called ‘Rocket’ who’d come over to greet you during the day.
