The restaurant food was good, and the bar area was nice. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Our room was just as described, and the location was great, less than a five minute walk to the lift. It’s a practical, economical choice for skiing in France. Not really a place for a party group, but our family of three had everything we wanted and a great break.

This works far better as a hostel than a hotel. You can help yourself to cleaning supplies before checkout, which isn't something you'd expect in a hotel, and the room had what we needed, though only one roll of toilet paper. The staff were lovely, and the atmosphere was the best on the whole street each night. We could have paid €19 for soup somewhere up the road, or stayed here with pizza and a pint for less. The other reviews make it sound a bit run-down.

The rooms are very small, and my friend, who's 1.85 m, couldn't fit in the beds. When we arrived, the place wasn't very clean. At checkout, they shouted at us and demanded €85 for cleaning, even though we had to clean the kitchen ourselves. The building is very old, and if you stay several days, things start breaking; they keep your deposit. The bald receptionist was really unpleasant.

After a long trip, it was disappointing to find we'd been given the opposite of the upstairs, quiet room we requested. The best part so far is that if reception is closed when you arrive, the bar can give you your information and directions. The “apartment” is cramped: the double bed is wedged into a cupboard-like bedroom, with no room to move. The toilet is separate and has an unnecessary basin, and my 6ft3" partner struggled to sit down. The bathroom itself was okay, but there were no towels, and they cost an extra €6.50 each. The little kitchenette works, and there's a TV, but only in French, with no English subtitles. They haven't made good use of the space. It might have worked much better as a studio with just the bathroom in its own room. We ate at the pizzeria; the pizza was okay, though service took a long time, and we had to pay at the bar. I've still got a few days here, but I can't see things improving. This place deserves its “1 star accommodation” label.
