The views and food were amazing, and everyone on staff was kind and welcoming. We arrived late on the first night, but they’d still booked us a table for dinner. The rooms and hotel are beautiful. We had a lovely stay and couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Avoriaz is an iconic ski resort, and Hotel des Dromonts is the architectural masterpiece that set the design language for the whole resort. Its lounge fireplace is a marvel and a delight after a day skiing. Now there’s a cheap plastic fake-flame device from Temu in its place, apparently to save money. What a shame, an absolute disgrace! I’m a regular, and this is the third year the fireplace hasn’t worked. Each year I asked at reception and got the same explanation about technical chimney issues. Once, an employee let slip that it was “too expensive.” This is the first season they’ve added the plastic fake-flame thing. Does it take three years to recheck or recondition a chimney? No way. I don’t buy the explanation. This is hotel management being cheap. Please just be honest. I also gave negative feedback about the restaurant last year. They said they were sorry and would pass it on to management, but nothing changed. Please bring this jewel of a hotel back to the level it deserves.

The reception staff were amazing, lovely, and couldn’t have been more helpful. The rest of the stay was a big letdown compared with our first visit. We returned with family for a second stay, booking four rooms over New Year, but dinner took three hours. Drinks stopped at 10:00, and getting service even before then was impossible. The “special” New Year’s Eve dinner was almost inedible and took so long that we thought we’d miss the midnight fireworks. The hot tub was cold, and there were no massage staff during what you’d expect to be the busiest time of year. I emailed the hotel twice and got no reply, which is why I’m leaving this review. I don’t know what went wrong between Feb 2025 and Dec 2025, but it needs addressing. Good for B&B, but no more.

We stopped by for a deep tissue massage with Jean and another therapist whose name I’m sorry I’ve forgotten. We weren’t staying at the hotel, but had booked the visit to celebrate our engagement, and it was a perfect end to our week of skiing. We both left feeling amazing and re-energized. We arrived an hour early and were able to use the spa facilities beforehand. There’s an outdoor hot tub with amazing views, next to a sauna, plus a steam room and another sauna inside the spa, as well as basic gym facilities. Refreshments were complimentary, including detox water and pastries, and we could also see the menu. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. We’d like to thank you.
