Domaine de Quittignan Brillette

The owner was very friendly and arranged a tasty dinner for our group. There was also a good range of regional wines at competitive prices. The only small drawback was that the water pressure in our room wasn't strong enough.

We had booked four nights and arrived at 12:30 after a three-hour drive. The property is on the main road, so I rang the front door bell from there. The woman who answered simply said our room wasn't ready and told us to come back in four hours. There were no nearby shops, bars, or restaurants where we could spend that time. We didn't want to leave all our luggage unattended in the car or drive around for four hours, so we asked to cancel. We were told we'd be charged for a "no show." I had provided my card for a 90 Euro deposit and assumed that was what they'd take. Once back in England, I found a charge of 360 Euros on my card. Make your own decision.

How well I slept! The place is very quiet, with no TV in the room, which made it nice to disconnect. Our room was spacious and authentic, with a king-size bed and a bathroom with a separate toilet. Towels were provided, though you'll need to bring your own shower gel and shampoo. Our hostess showed us the shared living room and the two bedrooms. We were the only ones using that space that day, though another couple also had a guest room. We got to know them over a delightful continental breakfast, presented with real care. A huge thank you to our hostess for the delicious dinner she cooked, worthy of a fine restaurant, with just the right wine for each dish. It makes us want to come back.

Our host was very welcoming, and the property is nice, with a cozy, comfortable room. The area is quiet, though the place is poorly signposted. It's a shame there are no shower products, and breakfast has a bit too much processed food.
