Auberge de Moussy

The hotel host helped us sort out a GPS problem the next day, even though we weren't staying there. Such thoughtful French hospitality. The restaurant was lovely too: the menu had French dishes we hadn't tried before, and our server helped us choose. She picked a wine that went perfectly with our delicious meal. I highly recommend the place.

The updated bedroom linens look good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There are some really good choices on the menu de ceour, including salads and desserts. Another great stay, and a very enjoyable one.

The friends who stayed at the hotel had nothing good to say about it. They described small, outdated rooms, cramped dirty beds, and bathrooms so old they barely held together. I didn't stay there myself, and I'm glad I didn't. We were part of a larger group eating at the restaurant. The meal was awful: the supposed foie gras was a dried-out, cheap terrine, the veal stew was unseasoned meat with cream, and the pain perdu was just toasted bread with caramel ice cream. I'm not kidding. Service was rude, and at one point they simply turned off the lights. Avoid this place.

Loved this Auberge. The rooms were nicely presented, and the location was perfect. I bought three bottles of their champagne for €14 each, which will help keep the memories alive.
