Azureva Murol

We spent four days away as a couple, with half-board. Lake Chambon is just 1 km away by road or trail, so the location worked well for hiking and jogging. We also made the most of being near central Murol during the Medieval Festival. At the restaurant, the food was delicious, with plenty of choice at breakfast and a good range in the evenings across our four nights. The waitstaff were professional, efficient, and helpful, so thanks to them. One little thing: we would have preferred bread made with a flour other than white flour. Wishing the whole team a great summer season.

The daily outings were a real bonus, and Axel made each visit engaging with his enthusiasm and stories. The entertainment team also brought a great atmosphere to the whole stay, and the kitchen staff were consistently smiling, attentive, and available. Meals were decent and varied. Our accommodation was basic but comfortable, cool, and had a good adult bed. We had a pleasant holiday in a lovely setting, with a lot to enjoy thanks to the team and activities.

The location in the village was handy, with a small sports field, a playground for kids, and easy access to the greenway. Breakfast had a good selection, though there wasn't much homemade food overall, including at breakfast and for dessert. The evening meals were still very good. The rooms felt a little dated, and the shower was small. Even so, I had a very good stay and would recommend it.

There's plenty to do around Azureva Murol, from visiting Murol Castle and the troglodyte village of Jonas to seeing a cheese farm or beekeepers, so we never ran out of ideas. The resort sits in lovely green, wooded surroundings, and the shuttle to Super-Besse was a real help, with useful times for getting children to ski lessons. The staff were friendly and professional, and there was a great atmosphere throughout. Our accommodation was fairly clean, though it could do with a refresh. The meals included with full board were adequate.
