Christine knows the area inside out and gave us so many useful tips that we didn’t need to visit the tourist office. We received a really warm welcome from the owners, and the country house is magnificent, right beside one of France’s most beautiful villages. Breakfast was generous, served cheerfully and kindly on the lovely terrace, with a superb view of Murs, the Luberon and the lush garden. Christine made us feel like friends from the moment we arrived, and helped plan each day’s outings with thoughtful advice. She even offered to reserve a restaurant for the evening when needed. La Guillone is a wonderful base for visiting the Luberon. The 18th-century bastide is tastefully decorated and has everything you need. Our room was spacious, very clean and naturally cool. We stayed for a week and came away with unforgettable holiday memories. We were there during lavender season, from June 15 to August 15, and it was sublime!
