Hôtel d'Haussonville

The building is beautiful, and staying there gives you a sense of being part of its history. The hotel's character is what makes it special, along with staff who make you feel looked after and are interesting and interested. Amy gave us a warm welcome, and the lovely Jodie checked us out. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of options including eggs, pastries and crepes. We slept in a really comfortable bed with exquisite bedding. My partner and I come back whenever we're in Nancy.

After a day wandering through fascinating, beautiful Nancy, this is a lovely place to come back to. It's on a quiet street but only a five-minute walk from the town centre, with lively cafes and very good restaurants nearby. The location is perfect. Breakfast is delicious, with a wide menu, and the welcoming staff are wonderful and very attentive to what you need.

We loved this small hotel, and all those 5* reviews seem well deserved. The service is personal and friendly, and it's ideally placed for exploring central Nancy. The 16th-century building has been beautifully restored, though its age means there are no lifts, which could be a constraint for some. Our room and bathroom were very comfortable, breakfast was excellent, and the staff were great. It was easily the best hotel on our trip through France, Germany and Switzerland.

This old building has a quirky charm, and we loved our two days here. Our room on the 1st floor was lovely, with a comfortable, snug, warm bed and a great shower with plenty of hot water. Breakfast included freshly baked local pastries. The location is fabulous, right in historic Nancy, with an endless choice of restaurants, patisserie and chocolate shops. The staff were charming and helpful.
