The room was spacious, the bed was comfy, and the reception staff were really friendly and helpful. It’s just a short walk from the centre, too. A couple of small annoyances: you have to hold the shower head since there’s no bracket, and the toilet uses an electric vacuum system that’s very loud. Still, I had a very good stay and would definitely recommend it.

We checked by phone on the day we arrived, after asking several times in advance whether a 10.30pm check-in would be okay. We’d booked weeks earlier, but nobody answered when we got to the front door and we were left outside. Wouldn’t recommend.

A good fit for this hotel category, especially if you’re visiting the area on a small budget. There are little shops and restaurants all around, and Place Stanislas is close by.

After booking a single night, I found I’d been charged twice, once by the booking company and once by the hotel. The hotel admitted it was their mistake, but my emails and calls about getting a refund were ignored or brushed off. Crooks.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and there was plenty of space with a comfortable bed. It’s an old hotel, with antique furniture and fittings.
