Brit Hotel Nantes La Beaujoire - L'Ama

For one night, it's an okay hotel at best. Breakfast was good only at 6am, and the service wasn't great. The AC in my room was broken; they told me to open a window because every room was full. The rooms also don't get serviced.

The room was basic, though the bed and pillows were good. That's the one positive I can offer. There were no hotel amenities, and when I tried to have dinner, the spinach lasagna in a jar tasted so bad I couldn't eat it. There's nothing at the hotel or nearby; everything is “in the city.” I wouldn't recommend staying here.

We were here for the Ireland v Tonga game. It's in a good spot for the stadium, the rooms were clean apart from one dirty towel, and the service was very nice, especially from the night receptionist. The problem was the airport taxi the hotel booked for us. The driver knew our room number and charged us 70€, even though the same trip had cost 50€ the day before. I asked if he was a real taxi before paying, and he said yes, that he was from the hotel. There was no taxi meter or roof sign on the car. The hotel should book real taxis for guests.

The hotel was mostly clean and comfortable, though old and scruffy. My main issue is still unresolved: I left my handbag in the room by accident about two weeks ago. The staff offered to send it to my home, which I appreciated since I live far away, and I gave them my address and payment details. It still hasn't been shipped. I've called about five times, and each time they say they'll send it that day, but nothing has arrived.
